Thanksgiving. Top Seven Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh how I love Thanksgiving. Being with family, Amazing food, The Macy's Day Parade, hot apple cider and pies, and listing all of the things I'm thankful for!

Excuse me for this novel of a post.

One: My family. I could write a whole novel on my family and how thankful I am for them in my life. I am so blessed with the greatest parents. They have done so much for me, they are always there to listen, and they are always there to support me in all that I do. I could not have gotten this far in my life without them. I have the sweetest Grandma and Grandpa in the world. They also have been a huge part in my life, I am blessed I was able to spend my whole life by their side. I wish everyone had the same relationship with their parents and grandparents like I do. My little brothers, even though they live in Portland and I barely get to see them I am so blessed to have Judah and Liam in my life. They give me strength to be the best I can be, I want to set a great example for them. To wrap it all up my whole family is just awesome and incredible. I have so many supporters, the love in our family is just amazing, we always have the greatest times together.

Two: My amazing friends. As life goes on you gain so many friends but unfortunately lose some too. I'm thankful for those that have stood by my side all this time. Those friends that are always there to listen to you and would do anything. There is nothing better then laughing till you almost pee your pants, crazy nights out, and even some days in with your best friends. The friends that don't care how weird you are, they still love you anyway. The ones that look past your flaws and are their rooting for you in all that you do. & of course the friends that you can be 100% yourself around!

Three: God and My Guardian Angel. Even though I could not rehearse a bible verse for you, or go to church that often, I still have god close to my heart. I have always had a relationship with God and the Holy Ghost. I am thankful for the little birds on my shoulder that guide me through life and help me make the best decisions. I pray every night before I sleep, I never let my praying knees go out. I know I have some guardian angels in my life and I know my Aunt Deanna is one of them.

Four: Photography and Art. This would also tie into how thankful I am for my vision. What would I do without my eye sight? Photography is my life and what I live and breathe. I am very thankful to know what I want to do in my life and that i have chose a something creative as my career. Throughout school I had to be creative with my work, I was never the best reader or test taker. Art and my creative mind really helped me through struggles with school and everyday life. I am thankful there are Art Institutes and art schools I can get my education from, being an art student is awesome.

Five: My Little Dog, Sophie. I don't realize how much I love that little dog until I have to leave her behind for my travels for long periods of time. She is the sweetest thing and was sent down from heaven just for me. She was abandoned when she was five years old, a neighbor found her at the park and called me to come see her. All of a sudden I was bringing home a stinky, hungry, adorable little black dog in my arms. We could tell that she had been abused, although she stuck right by my side just as happy as could be. I am thankful we got to keep her and take care of her. She is a little blessing.

Six: The basics. Food in your stomach, a bed to sleep on, a roof over your head, warmth, and clean water. You really do take for granted the things in your life. Volunteering down here in Mexico has really opened my eyes to this even more. After seeing some of the families that come in who are in crisis... you go home and think about just how grateful you are for everything. If you noticed I added warmth in there as well, as a person that gets cold pretty easy I am thankful for big nice blankets, jackets, and socks.

Seven: The little things. I really am just ticked by life and enjoy those small things that make life wonderful. The things like my health, my wardrobe, coffee shops, coffee in general, whipped cream, blogging, rainstorms, scrapbooking paper, cute underwear (I went there), Christmas!, pretty colors like lavender and coral, make up, alternative rock music, seashells, sushi, pumpkins, things that you can DYI, crafty things, sunrises. Oh yes, the list can just go on and on.

It's not the happiest people who are thankful, it's the thankful people who are the happiest.
What are you thankful for on this day of thanks?

  1. This is such an amazing list. I love the little things and family/friends. I don't think people really think about how they should be, even for the small things in life, because sometimes they're the best. :) Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
