Some News

1. I was highlighted in Green Trees & Red Rose's blog for her People Pursuing Passion!
I use to sing in a choir and went to school with Kiri, she is one of the sweetest and most inspiring girls!
Her blog is about the positive and wonderful things life has to offer.
If you ever want your spirit lifted, follow this blog!
Oh, & she also does wedding highlights, something every girl can love.
(I can't wait to see her wedding on the blog!)
<green trees and red roses

2. I need to re-dye the purple in my hair, but unfortunately, unlike every other girl from Utah, I can't do hair...sooo...teach me?

3. I've gained 5 pounds! At least I'm most positive. & I feel quite alright by this because
a)Something isn't wrong with my body like I thought.
b) I have just a tad more booty back
c)I still have confidence.

4. I took my very first gay couple portraits last night!
We were assigned to shoot a couple for portraiture, and I wanted to do something different, something I haven't done before. & well, you rarely just rarely see consumer portraits of LBGT couples. I hope I can do more in the future and be a photographer that people are comfortable being themselves around.

Happy Sunday!

Sunday fact shmacts.

My outfit: I drew the Picasso Dove on my $5 shirt, I got the scarf at Walgreens, &  found that hat.

I break my own heart with such high expectations of drawing, painting, etc. I'll get all of my art supplies out and have these huge expectations that I will create something amazing. & then my heart is broken.

I'm really almost addicted to lattes and sweet things.

I have a fear of getting my eyebrows waxed. Not because of the pain but because I don't even know what I would do if someone waxed too much of my eyebrow off and my natural shape would be gone forever.

Anatidaephobia is the fear that somewhere in the world there is a duck watching you.

I always thought it would be the most amazing thing to be on stage belting a song for a musical, but I know my horrible acting and terrible stage fright wouldn't make it happen. Oops.

I can't speak Twitter.

I will forever be in love with the album Awake by Secondhand Serenande & the song Boston by Augustana.

Happy Sunday!

You'll never hear me say..

Happy Friday!

I woke up at 5 from a terrible nightmare texting & calling Keiran in tears. I couldn't fall back asleep so I had a big bowl of Multigrain cheerios & watched Charlie Brown on netflix. "I want a dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown!" to be exact. It made my heart happy. I then took a morning nap & woke up a little bit before 9. Now I feel lazy.

Oh & if you ever hear me say these things... you should be a little concerned.

"That purse is only $50?!"
"Woo yeah a B-!"
"No thank you, I don't need that cookie"
"I'll take those pants in a size 4, please"
"Eh, I don't need to make my bed today."
"Kanye West is an attractive man."
"A hotdog, please."
"YOLO!"
"Your baby is so cute with food all over his face."
"I would love to pull off that super tiny bikini!"
"I'll just go into public wearing my pajamas"
"I love your announcement of the stick you urinated on"
"Dance Dance revolution? I'm a pro. Guitar hero too! Watch out."
"I need an iPhone."
"No Grandma, I can't eat pie or cake for breakfast."
"A wild college party?!...I'M THERE!"
"Well I was thinking of going blonde..."
"Coffee does not sound good right now."
"Oh a branch is sticking out of their head...oh well, I'll just Photoshop it out."

Oh man, I could make this list go on forever.
Oh & I may have failed at the 365, but I want to bring Fancy Friday back every Friday again, so look forward to a post later today!

OH BOY!

SOMETHING EXCITING IS HAPPENING TOMORROW!

I just want to put on a red curly wig and sing as loud as I can.."Toooo...morrow! Tomorrow! I love you, Tomorrow! You're only a day away!"

Or just look at this all day ^^^
Seriously though, does he not make your day?
I'll be using him in my blog...probably everyday. Okay, not everyday, but days that are super exciting.

I must say, today I am feeling oh so wonderful.
Yesterday was just not a good day for me but today is a brand new beautiful day
& I woke up to piles of snow! This gives me a reason to play some Christmas Music.

Happy Thursday!

Ten things.

One: I haven't been blogging very much.
Two: I'm already making Christmas gift lists for people
Three: I spent an hour in Hobby Lobby yesterday. 3/4 of the time I spent looking at the Christmas things
Four: Pumpkin Spice Egg Nog!
Five: I just want a bag full of pumpkin seeds but cannot find them anywhere
Six: My couch is still in need of colorful pillows.
Seven: I could really use a sewing machine
Eight: I just cannot go a day without doing laundry.
Nine: I am registered to vote!
Ten: I finally watched The Walking Dead because it was on netflix. I really hate gore...but oh my gosh..it is just so intense. Let's just say I finished 2 seasons in 5 days.

& this makes me not want kids.

Lately randoms.

It has snowed already here in Colorado last week and melted away by noon.
Luckily I didn't mind waking up early just to take some photos.

The trees are becoming extra colorful. I want to pick up every red, yellow, and orange leaf I see.
Speaking of leaves, I transferred a photo onto one.

There is a fly that has been flying around in my room for at least 5 days now. He likes to try and fly in my ears and hair. I will not kill it though because Keiran will not let me. It's becoming real tempting though.

I recently found out I have been saying "tarantula" and "tyrannosaurus rex" incorrectly my entire life.
I have always said TRIantula and TRIannosaurus Rex.
I also can't say my T's in most of my vocabulary. Such as my last name, Baumgartle. I say BaumgarDle.
& Heater. I make the T a D sound.

I've been craving hot apple cider and told myself to get some at the store.
I walked out with eggnog instead.

There is an older gentleman who goes to my school and is always at my bus stop. We introduced ourselves and after telling him my name he said he had a cat named Mariah because she was crazy. Um..okay.

I've been tempted to go kidnap my boyfriend and make him stay here forever.

Secretly.

I secretly wish
I was a super duper cupcake maker.

But let's face the facts that I have 32 sweet teeth
& would become one very chunky little monkey.

1 & 2 weeks.

One week
I'll be twenty!
The big TWO-OH and out of my teens.
& I have no plans what so ever.
I'm waiting to do everything for when the cream to my coffee is here.

Two weeks
I get to see, kiss, hug, and cuddle my handsome man all day and night for an entire week!
& oh how I will never get tired of that smile of his.

In other news.
I went yard sale shopping and got a little crafty last week with the home decor
Pumpkin Spice Lattes! & pumpkin bagels and cream cheese! PUMPKIN EVERYTHING.
It's 60 degree weather in the morning.
I need to make a new fall wreath.
I'm going to tackle making french toast this weekend.

Muffin Pie.

The other day I got low fat blueberry muffin mix. I thought it would be a guilt free treat for us all.
We had no muffin tins.
So you just have to go with what you know.
Muffin Cake. Ta da.
I even added a banana, which made it a blueberry banana muffin pie.
I get fancy.

Poop

This is me feeling like poop. But staying positive and going to school to ace my History of Photography test anyway. & staying after to shoot in the studio.
It's suppose to rain & I didn't forget my umbrella this time. I'm dressed like a bum, my fuzzy moccasins with a hole in the big toe even say so.

Happy Friday.

Wednesday Success.

One. I got to play with a 30,000 dollar Leica camera. AMAZING. Best camera in the world.
Two. I found a frozen yogurt place where each ounce is only 8 calories. EIGHT. I even get student discounts. That means I can add cookie dough and brownie bites and not even feel guilty about it.
Three. I get my new Canon EOS 60D TOMORROW. A new baby. I cannot wait to start doing some video with it as well.
Four. I got a HOLGA camera today. Another baby. I've been wanting one for so long and I was forced to get one for my darkroom class. We have to shoot a roll for next Wednesday. The roll has 12 frames, I've already shot 9. I'm going to customize it so it's not naked and make it unique. I'll even do a DIY blog on it. I already have ideas. It needs a name.

I took this from my Canon Rebel but just edited it in lightroom. It looks kind of holgay right?

Career.

Today in class a bunch of us were talking about what we wanted to do with our photography careers after we were done with school. We have to have a general idea of what we want to do before our portfolio classes.
I've been debating this for awhile now. I know that I love taking photos of people and places. When other's ask what I want to do with my photography career it's hard to explain. It's a lot more to me then just saying "Portraits, maybe some photojournalism, documentary type work"

Here's a little more of what I really want to pursue as a career.
If you know me, you know I have a big heart and love to volunteer. I'm big on confidence and true beauty.
I've wanted for the longest time to put my passion for photography and big heart together.

One of my biggest inspirations is Joni Kabana who is from Portland, Oregon. She talked to one of my classes   about her travels and what she photographs. She's been to places such as Ethiopia and Madagascar photographing people, their poor healthcare, etc.
One thing she does that I would love to take on someday is photographing cancer victims. Gallery here.
She shared with us how she was photographing someone as a model and when her model saw the photos she started to cry, she said she had an abusive husband and never felt so beautiful. I want to make people feel that way.

http://socialdocumentary.net/ is a fabulous website that has some amazing galleries and stories.

I have a couple more years of school and maybe I'll change what I want to do someday. I may not even be able to have the stomach for all that I really want to photograph. But I've had this in my mind and heart for awhile now of what I want to do after I graduate.
I want to document the tough stuff around the world. I want to help to others find her beauty.
I want to create change through photographs.

Blog Blog Blog.

I've missed blogging a lot. I'm on a blog kick tonight.

I did this back in November.

Obsessing over: The color of mint green and oatmeal. Seriously. My lifetime supply of oatmeal is running low.
Working on: I'm always working on school anymore. It's either studying for tests or working on photo projects for class. & working on becoming healthier again. There is no way I'm going to find those 15 pounds I lost.
Thinking about: My mind is pretty much scatted. All the time. From goals, the future, things that need to get done, planning cute things for Handsome.
Anticipating: JUNE 17TH. I cannot wait another day to see that wonderful man of mine and to kiss him and just not let go! My whole break will be just fabulous. We have so much planned already!
Listening to: Always Pandora or the CDs Keiran made me before I left. Which by the way the song Stolen by Dashboard Confessional just turned on Pandora, it gets me every time.
Drinking: H2O. Debating on heating up some water for some green tea.
Wishing: My mocissians could just walk right over to my feet.

& I look most attractive when making this face.

Laundry and a letter.

I got home at 1 today. It's rare anymore but it happened.
There were a couple things waiting for me at home.

Laundry.
It was not an option. It's like what my instructor says "Just like red light and green. You don't have an option!" I was running low on clothes. I dislike laundry. One of the worst chores.
But a girls gotta smell fresh.
I must start saving my quarters. I go on treasure hunts just to get some change in quarters to do my laundry.

A letter.
Yes, I get hand written letters. One of my favorite things.
& since Keiran is a writer and always says the sweetest things, you know they are good. The kind that make you cry and miss them like crazy good. This made up for the laundry.
I send him postcards and sent some letters this weekend. I even have a special notebook for letter writing for us.

Did I mention that he sent me just because flowers on Sunday?
Everyone tells me he's a keeper. I definitely agree. I've known this since day one.

I also woke up 15 minutes before my bus left yesterday. & I enjoy breakfast for dinner.

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

It's Wednesday.

& I'm ready to pull my hair out.
Large format, lighting, and darkroom will the the death of me.
I spent all day in the lab for one project. Did I get it done? Nope. Do I have to go back to the lab later tonight for 4 hours to get it done? Yup. It should be good though because I won't be alone, there will be a whole group. We'll make a party out of it.

This is the time I should be taking to study history and Spanish. But I'm too brain fried and all I want to do is sleep and eat chocolate. Which by the way, my boyfriend sent me a giant bag of cadbury mini eggs. I told him I would die but it's okay because he's the sweetest. I'll even rant to him about my problems with my lab class and such and he'll just sit there and listen, even if he has no clue what I'm talking about.

On the bright side of things I got an A- on my first project. I'm starting to make new friends. No more being the new girl with no friends. & I got my plane ticket to fly home for break already. I fly into Vegas at 4:00 pm, June 17th, where Keiran will be waiting for me...then tons of kisses and a mini Vegas trip for us!

Life's good.
I'm good.
I'll just probably be bald by the end of the term.

Sunday, April 15, 2012

I'm still a child.

This was my Friday night. Did I mention I'm in college?
Lucky charms are still magically delicious and my man sends me coloring books of princesses and animals complimented with washable markers.

Thumbs Up.

Trying to stay positive. Even if there is a problem.

I have to get school supplies today which will end up making my wallet cry.
I did however save $13 on my grocery shopping yesterday due to me being an excellent shopper.
*Thumbs up.*

I got off on the wrong stop yesterday 2 stops sooner then I wanted.
I did run into an Ace hardware though which resulted me to getting studio supplies I needed.
*Thumbs up.*

I woke up with a yucky sink. Both sides are filled with nasty water. I contacted maintenance.
It gives me an excuse to put off doing dishes though.
*Thumbs up.*

I have too much to do & no motivation to do it. Such as laundry and reading for class.
No school tomorrow. That gives me an extra day to get everything done.
*Thumbs up.*

It will be my first Easter without my family. It was always a good family day for us.
I'm going to color eggs, dress in bright colors, and eat chocolate anyway, even if no one joins me.
*Thumbs up.*

I'm going to try to get into a special class for next term, documentary photography, I almost squealed when they announced they were going to have one at the all student meeting. I'll probably cry if I can't get into it.
If I can't, that gives me one more class to get a required done.
*Thumbs up.*...although I'll still probably cry.

It's been fun, Utah.

I've been busy. Like skipping showers busy.
This will be my last post in Utah. Next blog I'll be in Denver.
The past few days have consisted of excitement and tears.
I don't think it's hit me today yet. I'm sure it will around noon.
Keiran took yesterday and today off work so he could be with me.

Yesterday
We made a nice big breakfast for us and my grandparents. Blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, and turkey bacon.
I gave him a little scrapbook I've been working on with photos of us that have been taken while I've been in Utah. He seems to really enjoy it which makes me happy.
I went through all of my craft stuff and decided what all I wanted to ship to Denver.
I went to Brea's and she dyed my hair. I'm a little more redheaded.  She let me vent and cry to her. I held and kissed little Korbyn's head. I'm going to miss my best friend and our times together.
Last night Keiran took me to dinner and a movie. I decided some Queso Dip from Chili's sounded amazing. As soon as it got to the table it hit me that Keiran has a strong dislike for beans. Opps. More for me I guess (Although I felt really bad) After we went to The Hunger Games. I own the book but have yet to get around to reading it so I didn't know what to expect, I have to say though..I just loved it. Seriously. Even if you haven't read the book you need too...then start to read the books!

Today.
I'm up at 6am to start packing some more. However I knew I had to get a blog in before I left to Colorado.
My Grandparents have a doctor's appointment so me and Keiran are going out to breakfast at 8. Possibly the bear paw. They have good coffee..and if you couldn't tell..we're coffee people. Although I'm sure I'll be calling him soon to have him come just a little earlier...just because.
I have made a to-do list of all the things I need to accomplish and a packing list of things not to forget. I don't think I'll have time to breathe or sit. I want to get everything done earlier in the day so I can have the night with Keiran and my Grandparents. Grandma is making my favorite dinner and her red velvet cake.
Cuddle with my doggie (who has been extra cuddly lately and has been moping around because she know's I'm leaving)
& most of all cuddle with my man. and cry. and laugh. and cry some more.
My day is going to be an emotional rollercoaster.

Tomorrow.
I'll up early. 4 a.m early just to get my bearings on everything and to make sure everything is together.
I'll have coffee and some breakfast then hit the shuttle at 7 a.m.
My Aunt is taking me from the shuttle to the airport. & on our way we are hitting up the cheesecake factory.
I get to Denver about 4:30 p.m.
Maybe I'll have time to sneak in a blog tomorrow night.

I'm starting to itch with excitement. A new place. new people. & new adventure. I'm anxious to get back into school and the classroom. I love school, I really do.
Even though I know I'll be back to visit in 2 1/2 months it's still hard leaving. It's always hard leaving my grandparents, I should be use to it..but I'm not.
I knew it was going to hard leaving Keiran...but it was something I was not prepared for. You never want to leave the man you love for that long. ever.
We'll be okay though, I just know it. I told him I refuse to say "Goodbye" and it would be "See you later." We're keeping strong for each other and I believe in us.
It's not going to be easy but it will be so worth it.

Well, it's been fun roaming in the red mountains time of Utah. It's rocky mountain time though.
I'll see you in June.
