Organization

I thank my grandmother for teaching me to be organized & my mother for teaching me how to pack.

This is what our whole garage looks like...with all of our things that we just cannot let go. Bins are our best friends and all are nicely labeled
Might I add that there is even a "Mariah's Happy Meal Toys." bin. Yes, kids. I have a bin just full of happy meal toys. Why do I still have them? I have no idea. Sentimental value? I don't even like McDonalds now.
It still makes me laugh when my grandma says "Oh no! The garage door is open....our garage is a MESS!" I honestly don't think she's peeked into some of our neighbor's garages lately.

Today I was organizing my things to go to Denver.
Since I only have 23 days left till I get there I knew I had to get crackin'
Since I will be flying there..I am shipping all of my things. My Mom's friend in high school, Kym, is allowing me to ship all of my things to her place and stay with her the first night I'm in Denver. What a peach!
There was 4 large bins that were labeled "Mariah's college" from when I was in Portland.
I honestly cannot believe the things I just do not need. I was worried that I would have boxes and boxes to ship when in reality I so far only have 1 that needs to go.
I organized my things into 4 bins
Send now- Which consists of my bedding, room things, and my George Forman grill (which I honestly didn't use the last time I was in school but maybe I'll decide to be a better cook in Denver and actually eat meat)
Wait to send- I don't know what all my roommates will have yet when it comes to kitchen, cleaning, and bathroom and won't know for another 2 weeks. I am more then likely to get 3 roommates who will already be there once I get there. I also don't know what kind of people they are either with the whole sharing ordeal. Fortunately it is all stuff that I will need later on in life when I get my own apartment.
Crap that I don't need (yet)- Just the little things like candles, coffee stuff, games, etc. It will be nice to have later on...but certainly not now. Things for Grandma to send in care packages every now and then
Yard Sale- There is even a lava lamp...yes..I am selling my lava lamp *sigh*

I for one think I am getting better at this "I really don't need this, let's sell it and give it away" business. I also think I have learned the whole "needs over wants" while I was in Mexico. Well...almost.
