Best Friend Night.

This is Candice. 

She lives in Oklahoma now. 

We are best friends and I missed her.
This was the only night I could see her while she is home.

We rocked out to music in my car & talked about boys.
Bought lip gloss on sale at Bath and Body Works. Mentha Lip Tint (Pink mint), why yes you can pull out that mistletoe now. *Winky wink*
Starbucks was calling our names. Caramel Brulee Latte for her. Pumpkin Spice for me.
Went to the temple grounds (yes, after having coffee) to look at the beautiful lights and took many photographs. We watched Mr. Kruger's Christmas (that movie makes my heart sing and dance) and looked at the temples around the world.
We went down town on Main Street to take pictures of all the pretty lights, we apparently like lights.
We drove home and admired more lights on the way.
She got out of the car and I almost cried.

Christmas Parties. 

I've always been someone that wanted to throw really nice get togethers and parties. I love the thought of putting things together for my friends to enjoy. Throw together some nice decor, food, goodies, and just a good time with everyone. 

If you all didn't notice in my last post... I had a Christmas get together a few nights ago with a hot chocolate bar and a white elephant gift exchange. Nothing big. 

The night consisted of hot chocolate, sweets, too much talking, funny friends dancing with the neighbor's Santa, laughs, too fast of a white elephant gift exchange, random walk to the park, and White Chicks. 

Even though only 6 people ended up coming, it was great to see them and catch up. I have a great group of friends. 

I wish I got more photos. I don't understand why I didn't. 

Tomorrow night for Christmas Eve my Aunt is throwing a party, it will be a great reason to get dressed up and fancy. I'm excited to see the turn out of her party.

I'm back in the states again! Yesterday was such a long traveling day and none of us went to sleep till at least 1 in the morning. 

Today we decked the halls and ate Grandma's party mix.

Sorry this was postponed on a Saturday again. 

Christmas stories and movies. 

I love Christmas stories, movies, or anything that makes my heart feel all warm. 

My Grandma and I love reading Richard Paul Evan's. He is a Utah based author and writes wonderful Christmas stories. She has all of his Christmas books. I'm debating which one I want to read this year. The Christmas Box is one of his biggest sellers. We also read The Christmas Oranges (most) every year too which also pulls your heart. 

I have a bag of all of my Christmas books that come out every time we decorate the tree which says Christmas is Coming on it. The bag includes books from The Bernstein Bears Christmas to Santa and the Christ Child. I also have a little collection of Christmas tapes, DVDs are overrated. One of our family favorites is How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon of course)

I really fancy vintage tapes and books. 

My favorite books out of my collections are the Golden Books, I love how old and worn out they look. Classic stories. My favorite Christmas tape is this really old movie which contains 3 Christmas cartoons (probably from the 30's or 40's) Including a very old Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, a toy village, and an orphanage. (Which might I add is THE cutest!) I'm pretty sure I am going to cry the year it stops working..yeah..I'll cry like a baby.

Fancy that Friday

This is my last Friday in Mexico. Next Friday I will be on a plane to The States again. Which means I probably won't have a Fancy Friday till Saturday next week. Sorry, guys!

I fancy gift wrapping and cards made with love.

If you didn't know, I love making cards. Yes, Hallmark is nice, but handmade shows so much love. It reminds me of when I was a little girl (or even now days) and making things for family or friends...I would ask "Do you think they will like it?" And my Mom or Grandparents would always say "Of course, because you made it." There is just something special about handmade cards and unique wrapping, it adds some extra love.

I love different scrapbook paper and fonts to create my cards. Yesterday while working on a few Christmas cards I was really starting to miss all of my supplies from The States. I have been using the same paper and style of cards for the past 6 months. Don't get me wrong, they look great, but I am excited to head to the scarp booking store for some Christmas paper to make some more cards when I get back.

I am planning on decorating my gifts a bit differently this year besides the normal wrapping paper and bows. I told my Grandma that she needs to save some paper bags for wrapping this year. I am going for the recycled wrapping look this year I think, and adding something a little extra. My Mom is pretty dang good at whipping up some nice looking packages. You know how packages will look so pretty that you just don't want to open them? It's like that. I hope my wrapping creativity is as good as her's someday.

I think pulling a late night with all of my cards and wrapping sounds like a good plan! A date with some coffee, card making, and gift wrapping...with maybe a few Christmas movies.

Tree

& the best Christmas Tree award goes to...

Hotel California in Todo Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

You may or may not think it's the ugliest Christmas tree you have ever seen.

I like it though. I am just in love with this tree. It's different... right?

I love the mix of beads and birds on branches. The tree itself makes for a different look.

Three joyful things of this Sunday.

1) The home smells like manzana y canela (apple cinnamon)

2) Purchased a tree, candy canes, ornaments, lights, and toys for children in need.

3) I made a wrapped shirt our of Christmas fabric covered with candy canes, Santa, stars, snowmen, and other Christmas-like things.

We will have a wonderful mini Mexican Christmas before leaving for The States.

It's December... which means that all of my Fancy Fridays this month will be Christmas, and New Years themed! I love Christmas and so excited to share with you all of the things I fancy about Christmas. You may all get tired of almost all my posts consisting about Christmas, it comes once a year though so I'm going all out.

Nothing says "Deck the halls" like a home all vamped up for the holidays! It's that time of the year drag all of the lights, tinsel, and mistletoe ;) out of the shed!

There are so many different color combinations you do can with this, styles, etc. Make it your own and unique!

Some of the best home decor is DYI as well!

Since we are going back to Utah for Christmas my Grandma is waiting to decorate the house for when we get there, very exciting for me! We did however buy this cute little thing to bring holiday joy into our Mexican home for now. We bought it last night at the Christmas Fiesta, I couldn't leave without a decoration for the home.I know my poor future husband someday is going to go crazy with all the decor I will want around the house. Our storage will be filled with Christmas joy and the home will look like Christmas threw up everywhere! OH so joyous.

I sometimes dream about what my home will look like around the holidays when I have my own family someday. I couldn't tell you what my absolute favorite style or color combinations are. I feel like my favorite style changes every year. I really love whites and reds though with a vintage style.

I am welcoming Christmas with arms wide open.

I love everything from the decorating, Christmas goodies, finding nice presents for those loved ones in your life (and in my case this year...making them one!) Singing Christmas carols at the top of my lungs. Hot Chocolate, Christmas lights, and Bows! Christmas Goodness to the max.

Man, oh man. Exciting this is!

Might I add this year will be extra special because I haven't been home in 6 months and there is nothing like being home for the holidays. I am more then excited to see my Grandparents, Friends, and little dog! My Grandma and I talk a lot about all the things we all need to do for Christmas after we fly home on the 16th.

I also would like a night with my good friends, maybe a Christmas get together, sounds like a great time to me. Who can I hire to come carol with me this year? Takers, anyone?

Besides the basic holiday goodness and being with my family and friends I do have some things on my list that may or may not be wrapped underneath the Christmas tree. So while everyone in The States are killing each other for the newest Malibu Barbie doll...I will share with you my Christmas wish list for this year.

Triangles and Perfect by Ellen Hopkins. I own all of Ellen Hopkin's books, she is by far my favorite. These two books came out while I've been here in Mexico and I've been itching to read them. I have been waiting FAR too long my friends...FAR.TOO.LONG.

A map watch, boots (size 8) and leggings. I don't even know if Urban Outfitters still has that watch, it's amazingly gorgeous though.

Ear cuff & Oxfords. Trying to mix up my wardrobe here.

I know I sound like a Mom and Wife asking for a kitchen need. However, if I happen to get one of these I would gladly make you a batch of Oreo truffles. ;]

Ryan Gosling and some mistletoe. Can we get that wrapped together, please?

Oh, and maybe a Roberts Arts and Crafts gift card.
