Oreo Truffles.

You may have seen this on my photography page, but now since I'm using this blog more then ever I thought I would post it here.
They are my favorite treat to make.

OREO TRUFFLES.
Doesn't the sound of that just make you drool?
Yes, it does me too!
I would have kept this my dirty little secret, but I thought I would share the recipe with you.
I'm no baker, that's for sure. So what makes these perfect is they are bake free!
Here is what you will need to make these bit sized yummies.
This is also a wonderful recipe to do right after your Mother cleaned the kitchen!
  1. 1 package of Oreos (16 ounces) 45 Oreos to be exact.
  2. 1 package of cream cheese (8 ounces) & if you're like me, cream cheese makes everything that much better!
  3. Baking chocolate, at least 2 bags.
Take your 45 oreos and crunch them all together, this is a much easier process with a food processor. But WAIT! Leave may 3 cookies out and crunch them on their own, you can sprinkle with them after you have completed the whole process.
Don't you dare steal a cookie.

After your oreos have been smashed to fine crumbs, add in the cream cheese.
To make this easier for yourself, make sure the cream cheese is a little more softened so it does not come out in clumps, you want a dough.
You can soften your cream cheese a bit by warming it up, not by a microwave though. Hold it in your hands for a bit, put the package on the warm ground outside, or if you're like me just stuff it in your pants!
Now you may put your cream cheese in the food processor with the crumbles.
Blend until you have a dough.
Get out a sheet of wax paper or foil.
Now go wash your hands, which you should have done in the first place.
Roll your dough into cute little balls. Not too small though.
If your dough ends up a little runny like mine did, stick them in the fridge for a jiffy to firm them up.
Then go do something productive for a while like cleaning up your mess. Let's not be a slob now!
After they have set for a while, I let mine sit for about 30 minutes.
Melt your chocolate and make sure you have BAKING CHOCOLATE, because if you don't it will be a pain. Mexico does not have baking chocolate so I learned this the hard way.
Once your chocolate is melted pour it all of those suckers!
Once they are coated put them in the fridge and wait an hour no matter how tempting it is to eat them.
Voila! Mine turned out pretty ugly but they are delish!
Beware- these are very sweet so don't forget a glass of milk.

Fancy That Friday.

Farmers Markets.
Last week we hit up two farmers markets.
Palmilla on Friday & San Jose on Saturday.
There are two good reasons why farmers markets tickle my fancy.

Uno. The food
There is so much fresh and organic food around you. Fruits and most vegetables if different kinds.
The food that will make your body say "Thank you."
My Momma got some Okra and fried it up Saturday night. It was heavenly.
At the San Jose Market we decided it would be a good idea to grab some lunch.
We had the most authentic quesadillas I think I will ever try.
They were finger lickin' good I tell ya.
Afterwards we stopped by this lady's stand, she was selling homemade ice cream and sorbet. I went with the coffee and vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate shell.

Duos. The handmade beauty.
From photographs and art to jewelry and hair prettys.
I will soon be added to the collection as well with my hair clips and headbands.
LigaMAC, the group I volunteer for, asked me to make them for the Saturday market.
All of the money will be going to families in crisis.

Applesauce Face.

I like my skin.
I like food.
I like food facial masks.

This is however the first food mask I have tried and quite enjoy it.
This certain mask is suppose to help with acne & smooth your skin.
It was so gentle on my skin & now my skin feels like a baby's butt.
Added bonus? You can eat it without having to call poison control.

Here is the how-to.
One medium apple and 5 Tbs. Honey.
Peel and chop apple.
Add apple and honey to your Mom's Ninja.
Puree.
Wash your face with warm water.
Smear babyfood looking mush to your cute face.
Wait 15-20 minutes.
Rinse well with warm water.
Look in the mirror and say "You're lookin' gooooood."
The end.

Enjoy!
Hair Mask to come.

Winner Winner What A Nice Neighbor Dinner.

Our neighbors Jim and Cheri invited us for a lovely dinner.
Pasta, sweet potatoes, cranberry bread and dessert banana bread.
MmmMmm.
You better believe I ate the whole plate of food.

Pancake pig.

My parents left for the beach.
I was left home sick and exhausted.
I got hungry.
Hungry for some pancakes.
I pulled out the eggs, milk, flour, and baking power.
Adding some vanilla for extra kick.
Best pancake batch I've made so far.
All it needed was some chocolate chips and someone to share them with.

9:30 a.m blog rat.

& I'm still in my P.Js.
Nice plaid pink and purple shorts with a short sleeved purple top.
Sexy right?
May I add the top as a huge smiley face across the front that says "You're my hero."
It's rather adorable really.

I'm usually up and at it at 7 or at least 7:30. Not today.
I just wanna sing The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars.

In case you haven't noticed I've become quite the blog rat.
I honestly have nothing to blog about at this point.
I just wanted to blog.
For no reason what-so-freaking-ever.

So here's something
I put homemade peanut butter on some chocolate cookies, warmed it up a bit and oh man.
It was heaven in my mouth.
I do not regret indulging on those suckers either.
I just might again today...while in my P.Js.
I might even add a movie to go with that.
Perfect.

Cupcakes and Kiddos.

Who doesn't love an amazing cupcake every now and then?
These kiddos sure didn't argue.
It was baby Kayden's first birthday a couple nights ago
& they got these delicious cupcakes that were even filled with cream. Mmmm mmmm.
I always think it's the cutest when little kids try eating things that are almost as big as their face.
At this age, you wouldn't dare let all of that cupcake get on your face.
It's a different story when you're younger then the age of five.
They just dive their little faces right into it.

^^^
Young love.

By the looks of it, the big boy enjoyed his birthday too I think.
